Firebird VBC is a not-for-profit (hopefully a 501(c)3 organization soon!) youth volleyball club serving the central Maryland region. Firebird VBC was originally formed in 2010 to provide an alternative choice for a select group of players who, while already fundamentally sound, were interested in expanding their volleyball knowledge and learning a higher level of game prior to entering college.
Atypical of most clubs, Firebird VBC does not form teams every club season. Meant strictly to provide a resource when there are a number of highly skilled players who are seeking out advanced instruction, the club seeks to fill the void left by other clubs in the region when the situation warrants. Simply put, Firebird VBC seeks to develop the player in a more complete fashion by teaching tactics, strategies, and advanced techniques in addition to typical skill improvement found in other clubs.
Firebird VBC is a member of the Chesapeake Region Volleyball Association (CHRVA), which is a one of the Regional Volleyball Associations of USA Volleyball (USAV). The coaches of the club are all Impact certified and seek to instill the values of hard work, discipline, and team play in their players. By educating them with regard to both the sport of volleyball, as well as, teaching life lessons, each player is encouraged to grow both on and off the court.
